Our Education and Training Department aims to make sure that our Inceptors and Therapists gain all the required qualifications during their Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to become qualified Recovered Addiction Therapists. Addiction in Practice Courses are designed and facilitated by trainers and lecturers specialized in addictions, models of therapy and ethics of care, in order to provide the best educational support to all our Inceptors and Therapists.
During the past decades, there has been an increasing awareness of the need for improvement in Addiction and substance abuse education for practitioners in the field. Learning about addiction, acquiring the necessary clinical management skills, and developing the appropriate clinical attitudes conducive to building a strong therapeutic alliance; are the rate-limiting steps for a better outcome. Additionally working with these patients can be highly gratifying for the informed practitioner, because these patients and their families, who are in considerable distress, often respond to proper treatment and return to a high level of functioning.
The Addiction in Practice Training Courses are designed to support practitioners in their diagnosis and management of addictions and to learn the necessary therapeutic and interventional skills that facilitate the provision of care and support to the addicts and their families, meet their psycho-social and physical health needs, promote their rehabilitation and aftercare to maximize their recovery rates and decrease relapses.
The aim of the programme is to address gaps in addiction training for the Recovered Addiction Therapists and other practitioners, support best practice and facilitate the transfer of international experience for the benefit of the local community.
The Addiction in Practice Training Courses are designed to assess and meet the needs of participating practitioners through interactive learning environment.
The Addiction in Practice (AIP) Training Courses objectives are to sharpen the healthcare professionals’ knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to the management of Addictions.
